you call me lucky, but don't you realize that i only have a few more years to ready them, to protect them from boys that are just like i was.

I have a daughter, too. She's nine. I know.
Have fun now, it starts getting bad soon.  Mine are 15 and 17 and I thought I was prepared.

Hibakusha: Yeah, I have a chat button. Why? :) I'm not gonna touch it.

Triste: Our winters are varied, to say the least. This winter, we had a lot of snow and temperatures well below zero. Other winters have been warmer, without the snow but with our share of rain instead.

Göteborg, where I live, is large enough for a decent bookstore but small enough to not feel crowded. Summers are warm, reasonably sunny, and it's not dark for more than a couple of hours around midnight.

And when I travel, I usually get homesick, so I suppose I'm either used to living here, or it seems like a btter place than others...  ;)

Could be that I hate change, too, and don't like traveling to begin with.

I dislike our government. Can't stand any of them, in fact, and think that they do a lousy job. There's an election coming up, though, so I hope we can take care of this particular nuisance.

I dislike the typically Swedish Big Brother-mentality, where the authorities always know best, where bureaucracy blooms, and where there's always an extra step before anything happens.

I dislike the taxes. They're sky-high, and there's a tax for just about everything.

As for what I like about Sweden, well, this is where I live. The looks, the weather, the soccer team... It's mostly a good place to live.

Have you ever wished you could have taken another path in life? And if so what would that path be?
George:I'd say I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not. I excel at not giving a shit. Experience has taught me that interest begets expectation, and expectation beget disappointment, so the key to avoiding disappointment is to avoid interest. A equals B equals C Equals A, or whatever. I also don't have a lot of interest in being a good person or a bad person. From what I can tell, either way, you're screwed. Bad people are punished by society's laws, and good people are punished by Murphy's Law

Yeah, I wish I would have studied linguistics instead of physics. I wish I would have said yes to a job offer made to me about two years ago. I wish I wouldn't have written a certain document where I spoke my mind about every little thing I thought was wrong where I worked, and I wish above all that I wouldn't have emailed it to my boss, about three years ago.

Don't get me started; it'll be a thread in its own right.

Supposedly, yes. In reality, no.

Um, Odeon? ;D

I had one when I was a kid in Finland some 30 plus years ago: Nuuska. But it's a long story, and if you don't speak Finnish, there's no point in explaining...

Did you read my response to this question?  It's eerily familiar to yours.

No, and still haven't; but I will once I've posted this.
