I've been looking at the Samsungs, too. We have many on clearance pricing right now and no place to display seven (as of this morning) new ones that have arrived. Prices on the 220, 240 and 260 (twenty two inch, twenty four inch and twenty six inch, respectively) models are dropping like crazy. All have been replaced by a line which are capable of higher refresh rates.

I just set it up. Multiple monitor setup from my laptop. The world just got bigger.  ;D

It's a Samsung SyncMaster 2232 GW. Up to 1680 by 1050 resolution. The next big test will be color quality. According to online reviews, it's supposed to be pretty good for the price range, but I don't have much to compare it to except the screen of my laptop. Refresh rates aren't too important because I need the quality more for still images than games or watching movies.

Took me a while to work up the nerve to get it - I haven't bought a toy for myself in ages. Life is good.  ;D

Nice monitor, that is some good resolution.   All I have is a 17 inch, that does 1600x1200.

Definitely a nice monitor!

We still have a display of that model marked down really low, but it has literally been on, almost non-stop, since March or April. You would not want that one.

I have a 215TW and I love it to death. Great for my graphics work. I'm sure the newer specs are even better.

True.

At work, we were specifically not supposed to turn our monitors off, because they would need to be recalibrated when they were turned back on. Otherwise they were just calibrated once a month or whenever someone noticed them drifting off balance. I don't know how often they were replaced.

i buyed new shoooooooooooooooooooes!  satin, pointy, spikey and only £2!  one small drawback - they're a size too small, but they'll stretch, they will!  :laugh:

(the photos aren't very good, but i couldn't get any better ones without dislocating my knee.  :laugh: )

i loved them as soon as i saw them, and then, when i got them home and stopped mimping about in them long enough to remove the price sticker from over the label, i saw who made them: it's in the last photo, and i nearly died!  talk about synchronicity, eh?   :o
