You pay as much as we do.

I can't remember the amperage, but, in winter it will run the Furnace, water pump, lights and tv, even the computer.  The new one is supposed to put out even more, yet be more energy efficient.  (it runs on propane) Which supplies our heating, hot water and cooking needs.

Never mind, I looked at the quote, it's a Kohler Model 12RES, rated at 12 Kw,KVA producing 50 amps at 120/240 volts phase 60 Hz.  Except for the Ice storm of 1998, we have not lost power for more than 12 hours, BUT, we do lose power for several hours at least 3-6 times a year.   ::)

Having a generator hardwired to our house has been a lifesaver.  The original was installed 3 months before the Ice storm and we lost power for 3 days.  AND we were lucky, most others lost power for 1-2 weeks!

I just have them for work portable ones 5.6Kw and a 2.5Kw   haven't had an outage at the house for more than two hours in more than 15 years

Your probably closer to the main transmission lines than I am.  That makes a difference in time!

Thanks for the offer, but better to think of your O'man for that project.

... but yes ... I love wool socks. I wear them a lot - the extra sensation from them is a life saver at times. They conform well to my weird feet, too. I have wide feet and even though footwear manufactures have recognised those of us with wideness, they still have not come to grips with the fact that SOME of us actually have TALL feet as well. Mine are quite brick shaped and covered with large flexy, grindy tendons.

Even though I am approaching fifty three years old, I still spend about a quarter of my day dancing around like a spazz on my tiptoes. My feet are quite strong.

:D

Thanks, though. Make some for yourself first. If wool is a problem, try other types, like alpaca or llama.

An old smoking table from the 1920's, a chrome and wood blow dryer from the 50's and a funky radio from the 50's plus a bunch of other stuff
