Not crazy at all to invest in precious metals, even when the stock market is booming. We all know that never lasts.
Gold and silver however are tangible assets.

Fortunately, I did not have to give up any of my metals to get this new home established. I managed to do it all under the veil of papers from here and papers to there. It worked out.

I did have to dip into an old IRA (stock investments) to get started, though. We had to have a down payment to "walk around" with and sling when the time came.

Downtown, very near Indianapolis center city (well within the Danger Zone of the big ugly city), there is an old, no, VERY old record store that is being taken by the city to expand a road. Much like our old home was taken, but this is a business that has been there since the '60s!
The city has already torn down the high school, a block away, from the '50s that had no air conditioning.

Anyway, I have ventured this close to downtown many times over my thirty years here in Indiana. I never left this store without buying something and often busted my budget, because they just had SO MUCH selection and much of what i love to hear.

They are going out of business and the place has to close next week, I think it is. I have been there three times since the summer for a few things. I don't think dropping my little pittance has helped the family any, but taking advantage seems to be what they want all of us to do. They keep lowering the prices, as expected, but I was able to pick up some very desirable music.
I went there in early December and dropped almost $400 bucks on media. Came home with an amazing haul! Mentioned that one, but did not put any $ amount to it.

Last week I filled three large boxes with CDs, DVD and Bluray concerts, complete collections of CDs from some of my favorites, a few LPs and I dropped over $600. That was like super discount, fire sale prices. Amazing!

Don't worry, I am in a stable position to do such. They helped get my selections packed up and out to the car for me.
There were only youngsters in the place so I did not get a chance to wish the old folks I've dealt with for decades any future prosperity.
I did not get a chance to say goodbye or anything. I just hope my pittance will help them transition some.

Supposedly the place goes up for auction next week and is to be demolished soon after.
MAN! I hate to see this place go!
It was one of the last of the last old school record stores.

Anyway, I bought a lot of music media this week.

780 ounces of silver and 16 ounces of gold.  Basically took everything I had in cash and converted it into metals.  These Republican whackadoos have me worried about an intentional debt default.

This was a few weeks ago but I haven't been here much, so... I bought 13 HP calculators for around $110. The oldest was from 1974, I think, and the youngest from 2016. The all work, even though some needed a bit of TLC.

$280 for the vet to say the cats are fine. Though Kira was microchipped as well so the money went to that.

Petrol, a sandwich and drink where I bought the petrol, a new dish rack and drinks from Aldi and medication and hair ties from the chemist (not that I can tie my hair with one hand).

A Ti-55 Scientific Calculator for $2

An awesome find. Does it work?

I don't have a charging cable.  I saw I could wire in a nine volt but I haven't gotten that far with it yet

Not me but Kayleigh bought a PSVR2 I think it's called. She had bought it on Amazon but they were very slow - they didn't take her money (it was a preorder) nor did they say when she would get it. So she cancelled the order and I drove her to JB-HiFi where she bought it outright. She's much happier now that she has it.
