Amazon, believe it or not. I've been waiting for the fuckers to come back in production.  :zoinks:

Best bit is it comes with a proper old school 'competition pro' style joystick with the clicky microswitches, and you can load ROMs from a usb stick and save shit. Fiddling about with the tape drive I DON'T miss.  :nerdy:

Oooh.

What's next, somebody starting to build Amiga computers again?

I built it as a fun little project a few years ago, mainly so I can play old DOS/windows games without the need to do any tricks or emulation like DOSbox. It's more than fast enough to run up to XP fine, but kept with Win98 for max compatibility. I am thinking of swapping the CPU/mobo so I can use ISA slots for older sound cards though, as some DOS games don't like the current one installed.

I like old DOS games too, but not the text only ones. I did that by buying a very cheap old laptop off eBay. Otherwise when playing a game there would be some driver missing with the emulators that only by having Win98 installed would rectify.

You can get modern FPGA implementations like the Minimig, MIST and Vampire V4. They run exactly like the real thing.

Or just do what I did, get an old Amiga 1200, recap it and get a modern accelerator card for it.

Nah, not that important. I might see if I can boot up my old 500, though.

They seem to have done a decent job on the SID emulation, though I've nothing to compare it with any more, I foolishly got rid of all my vintage computers some years ago as I didn't have space. The SID fucker was a one off, so many classic tunes programmed for it.

Bought some whisky on t'interwebs.  :autism:
