I like the kitty.

That one is George...he's my shadow.
Shadow George may know something many of us only suspect.

I bought a small pile of books I think I would enjoy to re-visit or maybe find why they seem interesting now. A King, two Larry Niven, a Roger Zelazny, four Asimov, Moby Dick and a small collection of shorter Lewis Carroll efforts.

The Lewis Carroll caught my eye and I just flipped open the oldest looking book of all that I had bought and got here:

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
      And the mome raths outgrabe.

“Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
      The frumious Bandersnatch!”

He took his vorpal sword in hand;
Long time the manxome foe he sought—
So rested he by the Tumtum tree
      And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
      And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
      The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
      He went galumphing back.

“And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!”
      He chortled in his joy.

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
      And the mome raths outgrabe.

I went online to copy and paste the text, but my curiosity is along the lines of why this and why this just now?
My best friend just died three weeks ago, my mom is failing, still, my younger brother is not getting better ... --- ...

Am I to watch for the Jabberwock in my mind's quiet places, now?

... or is it the Bandersnatch that I should beware?

They would be good here in Oz. I don't have proper sandals, I just have thongs.

This morning I bought petrol. $40.

Been stroking my own wants lately.  Some record stores and pipe shops and a few cigars.  Yes. I smoke. Deal with it.
Came home with many records, Foghat, CSNY (2), Styx (2), Jefferson Airplane (2), and the coup de grace is a super cherry all inserts included Led Zeppelin Physical Graffiti.

Other than that, I went into a group buy and I now have twenty thousand small rifle primers (for use with my .223 reloading), ten thousand large pistol primers (for use with my huge numbers of .45 auto reloads) and four thousand small pistol primers (for use in my 9mm reloads).

This is the way to go. Have forty or fifty gun club members go in together and order primers (considered a different kind of thing from ammunition) which have a huge tax.

As I try to count into the future, I might still be a bit light on small rifle primers.

Bullets are the hard part and I have been focusing in this, but now, getting to a balance, I need a few pounds of powder and a bit more sizing lube ffs.

I know that you folk who do not load your own rounds do not have any way to understand some of this. Suffice it to say that I am set except for powder for years into the future without having to buy anything else to load about twenty thousand rounds of hotrod .223, .45 auto and 9mm.

I was already set up well for .44 Mag and 30.06 Yes, I still use a century old round for most of my local sporting needs. You will find that many do as well.
I have another three more larger and more "sporting" if long range game comes into play. I am set up for those as well.

I, as a hunter, a full magazine of five as about as ready as you can be when it comes to huge magnum cartridges. You will only get one shot at your game.

About buying pipes:
I bought a stylish  "dress pipe"  today, shiny perfectly finished, Holmsian type, some gold and silver banding, elegant curved beast of a pipe, all shiny and stuff.  I have many similar but none so pretentious as this beauty. So that took some time, but I also cam home with an even larger, long true work style pipe.

Both are Petersen products (my alll time favorites) and they both smoke great from the first puff.

I willl post a pic or two after I figure out why my card port no longer works.
