Went  out, couldn't find the xylene. Bought ~£70something worth of new ABEK-1 gas mask cartridges (good against acid gases, alkaline gases such as ammonia and amines, hydrogen cyanide, hydrogen sulfide, organics, halogens, (non-fluorinated) interhalogens, and with a separate filter pad that goes over the top, then also against mists, aerosols, oily sprays and dust)

Plus found of all things, in a woodwork store, some triethylamine (as a mix between TEA and N-methyl pyrollidone, will need separation by distillation and solvent cleanup). I think its meant to be paint stripper. The TEA in there will be especially useful. Grabbed a liter of that.

Pondering getting myself some mitragynine, an opioidergic compound found in the leaves  of the kratom tree, Mitragyna speciosa, which is used as a painkiller, a work-stimulant and recreationally in various southeast asian countries, and there is a site, with some rather interesting looking phenmetrazine derivatives, including the N-ethyl homolog of phenmetrazine. Thats something I wouldn't mind checking out, as I've tried 3-fluorophenmetrazine, and that was quite probably the smoothest, nicest stimulant I've ever  encountered.

Looks kinda sickly to me. Then again I am not much of a fan of milk chocolate, I like mine to be the high cocoa, dark, bitter kind. 90% cocoa or better. Particularly like 'Green&Black's ' line of high quality, very high cocoa dark chocolate with various 'additives', such as lime, salt, chili peppers, and all sorts of other such delicious flavourings. They do some seriously good dark chocolate.

As for me, bought 4-5 chocolate trifles, with a layer of sweetened, whipped cream topped with shavings of chocolate, then a layer of thick chocolate mousse, a strip of moist, mousse-saturated chocolate cake and finally a darker chocolate layer of chocolate sauce. Pretty good for a bit over a quid fifty or so each.

A liter of a triethylamine/N-methylpyrollidone mixture, although I'll have to get round to fractionally distilling off the triethylamine to separate the two, and purifying both halves (NMP is a useful polar aprotic solvent with a fairly high boiling point in its own right. Already had some 2-pyrollidone, although not the N-methylated equivalent. )

Several family-size serving trays of tiramisu.

New set of lab goggles, that fit MUCH better than either of my other pairs, and have a sillicone rubber liner around the eyepiece so I don't get poked in the face by plastic, but a nice snug fit instead, and that fit nicely under my blast-shield.

Some apple and elderflower cordial.

Some cough mixture (dextromethorphan based)

And some fresh tanks for my gas  mask, ABEK-1 polyvalent type (acid gases, alkaline gases, hydrogen cyanide, hydrogen sulfide, organics, halogens with optional oil/dust/particulate aerosol filter pads that go over the top), 6 pairs. Was down to my last one or two changes, and one is due for the next time i use the mask. The canisters fitted atm are for the tip. I hate to even think what builds up in those things over time, given the way they are custom designed to be a sump for sucking up vile waste before it gets inside you and melts your face off. All the assorted different kinds of carcinogenic, corrosive, mixed nasty organics, acidic, mutagenic slops, all sucked into the same place like a witch's cauldron, to build up noxious tides of filth, shit and garbage as if it were an AutSqueaks conference advertising for attendees:autism:

Mulling over buying one of these, but I can't decide which colour I prefer.

^Nice. I'd choose the darkest one.

I bought a cloth bag made by my friend for $10 (mates rates, $2 off). From July, there's going to be a ban on single-use plastic bags in Western Australia. We have a lot of those canvas-like bags that we use for the shopping anyway.

That's how I'm trying to save money, too QV. If I don't go anywhere, then I don't spend anything.

Five days until the pension check comes.  I've slammed the hell out of free books available on Amazon Kindle.  I don't have a Kindle, just the software installed on The PR's computer.  I still haven't set up my computer because I can't figure out how to best use my bedroom and PA's bedroom (AKA the small room).

Do you get paid on Tuesday? That's our payday. First things on the agenda to pay/buy will be the electric bill and cat food.
