^Never seen a fan like that before.

They put out an incredible amount of air and were very popular before AC.  This one is rather large and was used in a factory. They made lots of smaller ones and  they are all highly desirable.  It's a bit rough but it will look a lot better when I finish working on it.  I have been cleaning it and the amount of nicotine on it is disgusting :zombiefuck:

I remember seeing one or two of those when I was younger.

My mom had an old Kisco hassock fan, I think she sold it for $2.00 at one of our yard sales. Wish I still had it, they where cool.

I love it.

But I would prefer a good AC. :P

I still have an all metal General Electric fan from the '50s that is noisy as hell (I like that when I am trying to sleep, no rattles, just air moving noise) which belonged to my wife's grandmother. I have fixed it after the motor died, ten years ago or so, but there is no fixing the fact that the fan blades cut the air like a banshee on crack and send out an insane amount of air.
I will never part with it. It is mine now, since I made it work again. It is mine! I love it!!

Sorry. I seemed to have posted in the middle of the quote. Had to make it look right.

It's Sunday so instead of going to church I bought a church pew at an estate sale for $25 :green:  It's a short one about 5 feet long from a church that was built in 1918 and closed in 1996.  I was going to sell it them my wife saw it and just started talking about where she was going to put it

The grocery salvage store had a sale this weekend.   I picked up about $150 worth of groceries for $43.

When you can get MRE-type meals for 32 cents, orange marmalade for 50 cents, cans of fruit for 25 cents, you stock up.

We were without one for about 6 years.  So, it's a welcome addition.

Diethyl ether, diisopropyl ether, heptane, cellulose thinners, naphtha, big tub of 'andrews salts'-similar to alka seltzer. Codeine and chloroform cough syrup, wine gums, can of coke, two big bottles of coke, two cans of 'KA' black grape soda, macdonalds large choc milkshake, two bacon double cheeseburgers  with extra bacon, two lots of fried mozzarella bites, can of diethylene glycol, 'oragel extra strength' benzocaine gel for my sore feetses. Amber leaf tobacco, liquorice rolling papers and a large tank of compressed anhydrous CO2 gas.
Beyond the pale. Way, way beyond the pale.
