Used some points I accumulated on my grocery card to buy gas for 51 cents a gallon.  Saved $1.41 per gallon.

I found some really nice knives ...

Obviously these are kitchen knives and I love them!

Good kitchen knifes are awesome. Nothing worse than trying to slice a leek with a blunt knife, or a cabbage with a knife that wanders away.

Missing a bread knife in your picture, DD.

I already have a decent bread knife, made by Henkel.  I only posted my most recent acquisitions.

Most of my kitchen knives are Henkel. Do not know if you are familiar with the brand, but Henkel knives are far superior to these (actually pretty fucking awesome) Chinese knives I have recently bought.

I had need of a few paring knives (it seems like any small knife in this house is always dirty/used) and steak knives or table knives as some know them. I actually bought six of the steak knives and six of the paring knives, except for the one in-curved blade knife. I now want to re-order a few more of the tiny in-curved bladed knives.

I remember that my grandmother had an ancient knife that was mis-sharpened over a great number of years and had the shape of the in-curved blade. As a boy, I was only rarely allowed to touch her knives. I always liked that curved knife. NOW I have one of my own.

I was not sure if I would like the large utility/carving knife, but once I tried it, I was hooked! It is very thin, yet extremely rigid and easy to sharpen to a razor edge.

I used to take small sharp kitchen knifes to cut my stuff. There's a small grinding stone ready to take on my work surface in the kitchen, for the small knives. Sharpness is elementary.
I bought a big knife like yours somewhere last year. Was not sure I would be using it much either, but I'm hooked. It's heavy, it is sharp, it is precise. Nothing chops up a chili peper finer than this big knife. Mine is one from an old Dutch factory, Amefa. And I love it. Used to have German kitchen knifes before that. The city of Solingen harbours knowledge on how to make a knife.

I was not familiar with the "City Of Blades" so I googled.

Solingen is the home of Henkels knives. as well.

I know, I have had Henkel kitchen knives, think my ex took them with him. My mother still has them.
Over half of the sharp knifes from my youth were Henkel or Herder I think. :D

Hah, memories. My grandmother had a BIG knife. She was disabled from babytime on, having a very crooked arm, especially her wrist and hand were affected. But that did not keep her from cutting bread, holding it against a clean kitchen cloth on her stomach, with that huge knife. Slicing perfect slices of bread, never harming the cloth at all. Somehow in my memory, her knife is the mother of all sharp knives.
