What can I say, I'm a sucker for shooters and nice graphics.  :dunno:

I love Fallout 3!
I have Fallout 3!
I've completed Fallout 3 an obscene ammount of times!

But I would love even MORE if they renamed the game "Shootin' Ghouls!" or something
cus it's not a worthy Fallout game! :D

Quote
But I understand your point, they were totally different games.

Precisely! :D I just wanna state that for the record, FO3 is very entertaining. One of my favorite game-series are for example GTA :D

Not played 3 yet. Will do when I sort my pc out sound wise.

Fallout one, got me hooked as a kid. Funny as fuck. Loved the kill shot animations. The dogmeat/minigun one was particularly funny. Squishy, chunky red mist and dog spine bits flying. I'm an animal lover IRL, but that was fucking funny as hell.

Still not entirely convinced I've played F1 out fully, theres too much in the way of hidden easter eggs and jokes to be dug out.

F2 has to be one of my favourites, that, and tactics. Reall liked the latter, although I can see why some might not.  Same reason lots of fans of Microprose's 'X-com' series didn't take to apocalyse and (unsurprisingly) hated 'enforcer', I.e they completely fucked with the format.

That reminds me!

I need to get to ripping the sound-dampening off the door of the lab. It used to be the spare room, not big, not nearly big enough for my likes either. But before the bitch from perdition (CBC will know who I mean I am sure) roomed with me here, it and before I sold my amp, guitar and bass, it was the room dedicated to creating window-rattling noise.

But I want to put ceramic tiles up, on the walls, floor and door. Carpet does not belong anywhere strong oxidizers, or mercury, for example, could conceivably be spilled.  Easier to spray down the entirety of a room that's a tiled box to cleanse it of biologicals also. One run in with having to have services called into the house to search for hazards (in this case a gas leak), due to biological..err..waste...sort of, was quite enough for me and I am sure the folks also.

In case anyone is wondering, no it was nothing I did, or bred (knowingly), but either I, or my old man when as a kid, accompanying me through the woods on one of my mycological foraging expeditions, it later transpired, must have brought the spores of the common stinkhorn, Phallus impudicus indoors. For several were growing out of the carpet, behind the fridge and freezer.

Ever been a place skunks aren't found, walking through the woods, only to get hit with a decaying carcass and overwhelmingly rancid fecal stench of truly vomit-worthy intensity? probably one of the phalloids. They release a pretty bloody potent mixture of sulfurous stinkers that can be detected by a human a literal mile off on a warm autumn day. And to flies, that says 'asshole' and 'dinner', so they collect the slimy green spore-mass and track it wherever they will. Up close and personal, a stinkhorn, singular, in a forest, is pretty virulent smelling to say the very least.

A cluster behind the warmth of the coolant pumps motor for the fridge and freezer in a house? folks called the emergency gas engineer out. Who tested and tested and tested without being able to find a leak. He could certainly SMELL it alright. Potently, and unavoidably. (heh, I used to use the immature unopened egg stages as a weapon of prank-scale and harm-capacity bioterrorism (nothing worse could happen but a turned stomach and a severely pissed off mood. Well, unless you count puke-potential.)

Ate some once. Never, ever, ever, ever again will I do that.

But he walked away emptyhanded and bemused. As were we, until we found the ahem...somewhat suggestive forms of these stinkhorns that had taken to growing out of the bare carpet in all their reeking glory.

Shit, I was just little then, I DIDN'T do it on purpose. I really, really didn't. If it were even me that introduced the spores, it will never be known. But it still cracks me and my old man up when that gets remembered.

So yup, the carpet needs to get ripped up and off and down, etc. and replaced with easily sterilizable tiles.

Did that with the whole house last year; it's nice. Much louder house now, but everything looks sterile. It's good.

Well its the only place thats sound-damped, other than the relatively well soundproofed electronics section of shed (the rest doubles as the toolshed and machine shop, as well as occasionally for some lesser profile lab duty (I.e the kind that needs not to be indoors, but isn't going to release a dirty great cloud of phosgene, or HCN, or something equally nasty. If its a real stink risk though, outside it has to be (HCN and C=OCl2 are more than stink of course), more thinking the kinds of volatile sulfur chem that occasionally gets done, that sort of thing. Warned the neighbors last time, although thankfully everything scrubbed up nice and clean.

One memory of leaving a trail of some sort of hideous mercaptan/thiol is quite enough. For me, or any bystanders (R-SH, where sulfur replaces oxygen in an alcohol or phenol to a thiophenol), everywhere. It managed to start seeping OUT of me, rather than the other way round (I.e coming into contact with an external source)

Result.....ruined coat, shirt, belt, kecks, trousers, everything but my shoes had to go. Permanently. So I like to keep things nice and clean in there. Something like that got dropped onto a carpet, I'd be cutting the carpet up and burning it. Not that I'd DARE store that whatever the fuck it turned out to be indoors. Good god no. That was a traumatic experience and no mistake (think a rotting skunk if you marinaded it in essence of burning car tyre for a few months down a mexican sewer in the summer heat.

And then have it come out in your nasal mucous, saliva, urine, even tear fluid. Bad enough I couldn't go down the road without people moving to the other side to avoid the impact. For several days. (although the peak extent of its evident metabolic generation and offgassing weren't quite as terrible the entire time, but still, buggering christ. Not pleasant.

Lestat, you could rip the carpet up and instead of covering the concrete (if that is what you have) just lacquer (sp) it instead. It could be cheaper than buying vinyl tiles.

Which, in my new place, is what I have. I am constantly sweeping it!

What have I bought? A load of vouchers for everyone in my family for Christmas. Easier on me because I don't have much imagination and I don't have my mum helping me because she has moved far away recently.

Just bought "most"  of the shit to put together a new (-er, bigger better) computer.

Still need PS, Vid, and an amazing audio card. Looking at several. Need to decide on a sound card.

I have an ESI Juli@ in my PC. Fabulous sound and MIDI. I highly recommend it.
