addict, devotee is the second description.  So you are correct.  However, I think you personify the whole gamut, so no need to worry your pretty little head about it....you've got it covered.

I actually don't think sex was mentioned as a question.  More that McJ said he was a fiend.  He proffered the information...and definition was supplied.

How long did these periods of addiction last?


And do you ever wonder if you've replaced these with an addiction to sex? (sorry for bringing up the 's' word but its relevant to the addiction discussion).

no.  the sex addiction has been constant and one i had before the drugs.


the alcohol was about ten years.  the drugs was two seperate times, for about three years each time.

Were you disappointed that you were addicted to drugs when you had children to consider?

i didn't have kids until i was 28.  after then, i had only smoked pot but not habitually.  i quit the drinking pretty much when my oldest was three.

so my answer would be NO.

i just got tired of it.  it got to the point where i was doing alot just to feel a little less than i normally would feel if i had never done it at all.  it became....nonproductive.

at first i did it for the energy and nerve (out in public).  but then, after time, i found that i was spending alot of money just to be tired and paranoid all the time.  i would stay inside and do nothing.
