Na, I've got loads of spares - it was on a "EZCool" "650w" PSU, not my first choice, cheap Chinese shit. fucking thing is only actually capable of less than 400w.

Still, not my problem, I didn't pick it.

Yeah, loads of people don't think a good PSU is important. Something like a SeaSonic would do though. I Have a Corsair HX620 in my machine (built by SeaSonic I think).

Cheap PSUs don't have the multiple voltage rails either, which are essential if you plan to use a power hungry GPU.

Mine's a Coolermaster M620, cables are modular which makes management easier since you can plug out the cables you don't need. I might upgrade to a good PSU with at least 1000W if I plan to get an SLI capable motherboard with decent GPUs.

Mines quite good - I see no need for crossfire or SLi though, the diminish on returns (especially with SLi) is fucking awful.

Not to mention a single 5870 can outperform all but SLi'd 295s, and the x2 hasn't been announced yet...

I dunno, ran into a lot of problems trying to get my 9800GTX running on Ubuntu. Official driver ran slow as fuck.

I go for whatever card's good at the time, so I'm not really loyal to a certain brand.

Yep, the Corsair HX620 is modular, and SeaSonic have a modular line too (need to get one for the media PC). Apparently the new ATi 5xxx range use a lot less power, so you might not have to get such a powerful PSU if you go ATi.
