It's still about empowerment, the way I see it. This is still the place where you can (it's "can", not "must") engage in combative debate, challenge the views of others and have your views challenged. This is still the place where you can learn how to. It's still about free speech, still about your right to not be censored by some narrow-minded mod.

But with all that said, yeah, maybe we should all shape up and start living the ideals again. There's no way to force something like that so I2 is and remains what its members make it to be.

Yeah. I've tried forcing it in the past and miserably failed.

It can be nurtured, though. Like I said somewhere a couple weeks ago, I make a shitty gardener, but I'm trying to learn.

pieces of someones chimney ended up in my backyard after the near hurricane force winds we had

i have no idea whose it is and no one has claimed it. i will have to throw it away
the noisy assed grain elevator lost a tower and made the street impassible for half a day
the wind ripped off a one of the front doors at work and it crashed into a car parked outside
we lost some shingles from our house - no big deal, but our neighbor lost a two hundred year old maple tree as it uprooted and took out the corner of his house
