Stupid Fucking Thermaltake Sonata PC Case. Have to take the fucking motherboard out just to change out the PowerSupply.

Took me 2 hours (had to clean out all the dust bunnies while I was there).

That's fucked up.  Sounds about like the last Dell I had to deal with (trying to help aa "friend"). There was no real case at all. everything was just hung on to a framework which also held the mo'bo' upright. There was a side panel you could remove and a decent rail for the drives, but before I could get the power supply out the damn thing was in pieces.



The new ones I've seen appear to have abandoned this manufacturing shortcut strategy. At least the ones we sell at BB actually have a case.

Nah, its a regular case, but it has a cross bar just under the PSU that cannot be removed and doesnt leave enough room to remove the PSU with having to also remove the motherboard. So that means I have to also take out a few hard drives  and all the PCI cards and them unscrew the motherboard and remove it, and I also put this big ass heat sink fan on the mobo that isnt that easy (read impossible and not worth it) to remove.

Fucking OCZ Vendetta 2 Heat Sink/Fan is next to impossible to install. Wore out the muscles in my forearms trying to get the thing on. I hope the motherboard isnt warped too much.

The Zalman on my last machine was hard, but this OCZ one makes the zalman look easy. The OCZ uses the intel push pins and not some fancy add-on bracket like so many other aftermarket heat sinks use these days. I think I would have been better going that route than trying to find something that is compatable with Gigabytes Crazy Cool setup that is attactched to the underside of the mobo right under the CPU socket.
