Anemia and dehydration which I think is silly.

Really cannot be bothered to wait ages in a horrible hospital surrounded by ill people.  I'm paranoid enough about bacteria as it is

And they were normal, I take it? :-\

Aren't they always?

I doubt that bacteria are causing those types of ills.

Drink more water and eat more vegetables, maybe?

I think I drink enough.  I eat loads of fruit

It's because my apetite has practically disappeared.

That's the meds' fault though.

I will just pretend I'm asleep and maybe they'll leave me alone  :zoinks:

UK hospitals are infested with all sorts of deadly antibiotic resistant bacteria.  They outsourced their cleaning to private cleaning firms, and the results of the rampant cost-cutting have been fairly catastrophic.

Are you saying that you have to wait in a hospital just to have a blood test done? You can't just go directly to the lab and give them your doctor's paperwork?

BTW, we all have to be wary of the resistant strains.

I may be a bit brainwashed with concern for my kids, but they had a colony (not infection, until it overtakes a host) of resistant bacteria in our brand new school this year.

In the US, you get a LAB order, go to your Doctor's office get in, get it drawn and get out.  Makes me wonder if our (US) system of health care is all that bad.  Especially when well off Canadians BUY into our health plans and flock across the border for treatment in the US.  hhhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmm   Don't believe me.............look it up yourself!

Pretty much, though most blood tests I've had were taken by a nurse in the doctor's surgery, not in a hospital, but I had it taken in a hospital when I went to see an endocrinologist, since most specialists work in hospitals.  The doctor then sends the blood samples to the lab, which incidentally is generally also in a hospital as far as I know.  I don't think people ever actually go to the lab to have blood taken.

I have a standing order for bloodwork, so it works the opposite for me. I call the doctor's office and talk to a nurse, who prepares the papers for me in advance. I stop by and pick them up and drive around the corner to the lab and it is all done there. Then I call for an appointment a couple of days later to talk over the indications produced by the test with the doctor. There is never much to talk about. He just pencil whips the forms (it is obvious that he has already studied them in detail) and talks to me about general "stuff" related to men's health.

The people at the school I am working on disrupted my schedule so I left, I have a hard time adapting in scheduling conflicts

Ah, where we live, the Doctor's office/standing order draws the blood, ships it to the hospital lab and then the Dr, calls us.

I guess I could go to my GP's surgery but that is even more bacteria-infested than the hospital.  Everyone coughing and sneezing all over the place :gwah:

Plus the chairs are more uncomfortable.
