I messed up at the interview and I am only really up for the contracted 1099 job which doesn't pay any more than my current job that has benefits.   That guy called me this morning and got me all worked up over a salaried position then told me I need to get more experience and "get my feet wet".   So basically I drove downtown and spent money on a parking place for nothing.   They do have my info and supposedly will contact me if they get anything good for me.   Bleh.    I was way too nervous.

Bummer, but it sounds like he was just jacking up his interview numbers at your cost. Most of those guys have quotas to meet.

I am always suspicious of a bait and switch scheme. Even worse are the bait and bait and bait schemes.

They get paid by companies for bringing people in.   I have no idea what his own company does as far as incentives for finding potential workers.   They will have work for me, but nothing seriously longterm with a large corporation.

I have another job interview tomorrow (technically today) at noon.   This one has at least some promise.   The best part is that it isn't through a recruiter and for what seems to be a growing business.   Hopefully I do better at this interview.
