bloody eczema, tut.  today, i am "slough-off-all-your-skin" woman.  half an inch of cream, all over, and i still look as though i've got all-over dandruff.  ::)

quite pretty, cos every time i move, it's like one of those snowstorm in a globe thingies.  i can, however, live without being scenic.

I've got an HP laptop, series HSTNN-105C, 'running' (cough) XP Pro, but it's fucked and I don't know why.  Most of the time when I try to boot it, it freezes at 'Mup.sys', but for some reason it booted ok once.  It also completely fails to recognise the internal DVD R/W, despite the drive having power and whirring and things when a disk is inserted.  I tried to boot it from a Knoppix live CD, but the BIOS seems oblivious to the presence of the DVD drive, and the one time I got it booted into XP, XP didn't have a clue that there was a drive either.

I'm looking at a page of my daughter's first grade exercises - clockfaces with hand-drawn hands, copied and distributed. The problem is that five of the clockfaces have hands that only differ in length by one millimeter.

She sure drew some fancy assed arrows on the ends of the hands, though.

I measured the hands with my precision machinist's calipers, using a loupe to make sure of my measurements. Some standadrization would help here!
