I think so, but, you would most likely having awful headaches along with the neck aches.  Could it be something in your exercise routine??  I just read yesterday, that situps with your hands behind your neck puts a lot of stress on the vertebrae.

I had a headache 3 days ago, then I woke up yesterday morning with my spine and ribs hurting quite badly, which lasted until the evening, and today I woke up with my neck hurting, but not in a muscular way, since it doesn't hurt any more or less when I move it.  I haven't been doing any exercises lately, I've been very tired for the past week, and mum complained about being tired and her limbs being sore.
