Lifelines, The Jimi Hendrix Story

It is a CD collection of the 1988 Labor Day weekend radio feature program,  Jimi Hendrix, Live And Unreleased.  It's loaded with famous voices commenting on their own "experience" between the songs, too.

For some reason, I had never played this set on my SACD player. I am amazed at the prowess in interpolation of non-existent surround that this little machine has demonstrated to me today. I don't have 5.1 tubes (yet), so I play the SACD through my HT set-up. I am enjoying a Hendrix surround experience.

Interestingly, my son has moved his base of operations (he's a bit of an artist today, drawing, coloring, cutting out dragons and mythical creatures) to a place near the "sweet spot"  and could possibly be broadening his musical tastes a bit (he's normally a closed-minded jazz cat).

Nick Lowe--So It Goes. From his brilliant 1st album, finally released on CD in US under its actual title: JESUS OF COOL.

(On original release, CBS US changed title to PURE POP FOR NOW PEOPLE. OK title, but not as cool as the other.)

Having an interesting glimpse into an Albanian ethno-jazz combo. The recording quality is a bit dodgy, but some of it is quite pleasant, even considering they have re-hashed traditional Albanian tunes in an oddly playful way.
