The Jerry Garcia Band, "Live"
Jimi Hendrix: When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.

Ghandi: Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.

The end result of life's daily pain and suffering, trials and failures, tears and laughter, readings and listenings is an accumulation of wisdom in its purest form.

I like 2112 better. Return to kings too. Hell, so much of their shit was good.

I'll look it up after I'm finished watching Detective Conan 470 and Inukami!
George:I'd say I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not. I excel at not giving a shit. Experience has taught me that interest begets expectation, and expectation beget disappointment, so the key to avoiding disappointment is to avoid interest. A equals B equals C Equals A, or whatever. I also don't have a lot of interest in being a good person or a bad person. From what I can tell, either way, you're screwed. Bad people are punished by society's laws, and good people are punished by Murphy's Law

He was like Hendrix, in one way. He woke up in the morning, farted, scratched his balls, and turned on the recorders, except he lived much longer. A complete Zappa collection would be near to impossible. The body of his work that is available is astounding, quantity and quality wise.

I have a decent collection, but most of it is from download, MP3. I listen to here his incredible music, but the quality of an MP3 never satisfies me, until you get into the higher bitrates, huge file sizes.

The way he left the discussion of copyrights, I don't think he minds that we copy his CDs from the library or each other, even if some of us get the shakes from doing it. (I feel guilty, but I get over it) I have turned my back on the RIAA and I pity the beginning talent who must use their methods to promote themselves, for they will not win, until they are free from that "beast".

Zappa For President! (I used to have that T-shirt)

I don't. Fuck the dinosaur corporations, who would rather sue their customers than give them what they want.  :finger:

I hate the RIAA. Interesting site: http://www.downhillbattle.org/

Among plenty of other stuff, there's a link there to a description of the majors' recording industry by Steve Albini. Fun!

Predatory dinosaur bastard corporations!

I can't tell you how many raging arguments I have had with bootleggers, defending those bastards, because I was involved with groups who were stuck on their teats. The "guilty" feeling is still there, even several years after waking up. I can't explain it, but like I said I get over it, and quicker every time, too.

Hey, Scr'eap, our local library has twelve or fourteen of his albums. Maybe you could give your local library a look and maybe find a few more, you don't have. Then rip them to your computer, using EAC. Save them in .wav format and you can make bit-perfect copies (in theory), then later convert them to some lossless fomat to save disk space or MP3, if you are not sensitive to sounds.

You can also buy buttloads of music from his website and any one of dozens of dedicated fan sites.
