For me, it's not 'playing'. It's a mixture of fears probably. Most of all, the fear of seeming less than iconic.But, I very much try to avoid being annoying. As much as it sucks being unable to initiate relationships or even respond appropriately when someone else tries to initiate a relationship, at least you are only going to end up in a relationship with someone who likes you enough to ignore all that shit.
