pmselle - alcohol consumption worsens rosacea, so the two can easily be linked.
Everything that increases bloodflow worsens rosacea. :P

Oh, and with men the chance that rosacea fucks up the shape and colour of the nose is bigger than with women. Men with a typical rosacea nose often get flak for drinking too much, even when they are a teetotaller.

Elle, could be something else too. Seeing a GP, dermatologist, or other skin-specialist is what can give you some certainty.

With all the stuff you find have you ever considered selling at a flea market?

Considered it, set up quite a bit with my dad when we weren't there to buy. Used to go every Sunday.

Sunday's now however usually find me without wheels, a kid, and all my lawn equipment missing.

SO and the kid are cutting grass at his bar and an elderly customer of his up the road. Stuck with yard sales, the local ads, and craigslist for now.

We have been invaded by a mouse, possibly mice.

Why are they squeaking? You'd think they wouldn't want to announce their presence. At first we thought the nosies were from Minecraft (because after all woofy likes to dig), but I am grading papers so the game isn't on in the background.

Also, it is humane to catch them and put them outside in the middle of a city? I no longer have a car so I can't drive him out to the country where he'd be eaten immediately by predators.

If you want to catch it alive and put it outside, the mouse will manage just fine. It managed to sneak inside your house, and it will find another convenient place. A mouse can live on just a few drops of water and some soap if need be.
If you like to relocate it somewhere alive, do let it run free a pretty wide distance from your own house. If you transport it "blindfolded" the distance does not have to be more than half a mile. Too close a distance, and you will have it back in your house in no-time.

Yep, they are like homing pigeons unless you take them a good distance.

Hate to say it, but normally when you hear noise like that it means they have little ones.

arg. I was afraid of that.
I wonder what Pyraxis will think of my trapping mom and dad....
Unfortunately there is also a bad smell in the house since yesterday which means someone didn't make it.
The mice seem to be living behind our stove or refrigerator. I'm guessing the plastic bags and styrofoam they ate didn't sit well with them. They did get a bit of Py's lindnt bunny which she was boycotting.

does chocolate poison mice the same way it does cats? That would explain the smell.
I did run into a bat in my mine and the sound was indistinguishable.  I've heard some interesting stories about where they got the mob sounds but I don't have to guess about that one.

Living behind the stove may mean that they go in your stove at night to find crumbs and such.
My mother placed traps in the oven, whenever mice were roaming the kitchen, instead of ransacking cupboards only. She did catch a few in the oven.

I removed any source of food. Not sure if they're gone. Nothing's been chewed in a while.

I bought some olives and artichoke hearts at the salad bar. I put them in the refrigerator right away, but now one of the olives has tiny white spots. Is this from dehydration? I put wine vinegar on it and they went away, but now I am wondering if that was mold. Haven't eaten it yet.

An associated question: why isn't it OK to eat mold? I imagine the acid in my stomach would kill anything (but I do know about heliobacter) so why could I eat moldy cheese but not moldy olives?

I did eat moldy olives once - months and several visits to a neurologist later, I found out that essentially the mold had poisoned me and given me amigranous migraines. Those are migraines with interesting symptoms like my hands turning blue or losing sensation in my right leg. I managed to get to one appointment during a migraine and the neurologist stuck a six inch needle into my thigh. He hit bone after a few inches, but I felt nothing. I've avoided olives with no seeds since then.

The white spots are probably olive oil, setting because of the cold. If you keep a bottle of olive oil in the fridge, it will start look just like those white spots.

I have had that happen more than once, after putting olives in the fridge the moment I got home.

Oh, a mould is a fungus. Like mushrooms, there are poisonous and non poisonous moulds.

How do I spray paint (or otherwise best paint) furniture in my apartment without dying or destroying the apartment?  I have a sliding glass door in my living room, so ventilation could hypothetically be about as good as it gets without no longer being strictly indoors.

Oh, and the furniture has metal, plastic, and painted wood parts, so fuck if I even know what paint will stick to it.

If you can't answer this one don't feel bad; I've been mulling over it for like half a decade and never got around to figuring it out properly.
it is well known that PMS Elle is evil.
I think you'd fit in a 12" or at least a 16" firework mortar
You win this thread because that's most unsettling to even think about.

Lowes sells really big rolls of plastic for painting - that will protect your walls.
I'm willing to bet that Icequeen knows which paints will stick to which things given which treatment (you might have to do some sanding and/or priming). It's likely that the plastic will give you the most trouble. I'm a fan of duck tape for such things.
I suck at spray painting so I can't tell you how to do that.

Wouldn't taking the furniture outdoors to do the painting resolve the issue?
