So I watched Prometheus. It was a piece of shit.

Honestly, I was ready to love that movie tenderly because it was supposed to be a prequel to the Aliens series, but as it turns out, there are a lot of reasons to hate it, and not many reasons to like it. Break it down!

-References to white guilt: (The main antagonists being heil hitler type Caucasians, and the aliens being hitler's ideal perfect human based on the idealisms of the vrill society. I wasn't even aware of this until someone pointed it out to me. And then I threw up in my mouth a little.)

-Horrible character development: The only development being some hateful exchanges between crew members at the beginning, some sex, and interstellar class advanced people running headfirst into retarded situations.

-The part where the girl is impregnated with the alien: What the fuck man. She runs down the halls covered in blood, obviously pregnant all of the sudden, and the other crewmembers are just like "wut". She gets to the old asshole's room and they all just sneer at her. Not believable.

-The plot was retarded: Basically an "according to ancient alien theorists" plot, with an "Oh they wanted to create us to kill us" twist on it.  :autism:

-The way the characters acted during their mission: Okay. These are top notch scientists. We have geologists, biologists, etc. The biologist goes to an alien planet and the first thing he does is take off his fucking helmet. The ultra tech savvy professional geologist gets lost in the cave as soon as there is a storm outside. Instead of watching to make sure the dudes still in the cave are ok for that night, the captain goes and fucks the rich girl.

All of my cringe on that last one. :lol1:

All in all, shitty movie. Can't believe they spent so much money making it. The writers must have been smoking meth.

On the upside, it looks like handsome squidward got to be in a box office hit.

Don't you want to see the sequel to the prequel?

On the off chance that they'll fuck up less and actually try to salvage this and do the aliens movies justice.... I will not be able to resist trying to watch the second one.

I had read that it sucked someplace not sure where and had no desire to see it either.  I always wonder about these big budget movies that seem so lacking in the basics like character development

Really some parts could make the movie a comedy if it weren't for the obviously "serious" flavor to it. You couldn't seem to forget that the writers really wanted to make this a sequel to aliens.
