I have always thought kids should be grouped together according to ability and not age, gender etc.  The problem is girls grow up at a faster rate than boys.  If a class is on one level,  developmentally, then i would image fewer problems.

Home schooling is the best. I made 3½ years work in 3½ month when my parents home schooled me illegally in 1980.

I dropped out of junior high and home schooled for high school. I started attending college in 11th grade (high school goes up to grade 12 here).
