^GA's place was dirty, I cannot stay in a dirty place. So the cleaning had to be done. But you are right, this is getting me ready for having a place of my own. :)

You are going to love it, you'll be so houseproud!   :2thumbsup:

Mum said I should have a housewarming party and I said that would be like an autistic version of extreme sports, having a party.

I may start one should I get a place. I may not get the place that is on offer at the moment, someone else may get it. But I am really hopeful that I am the one who gets the new place. I am a bit worried about it because my doctor wrote that I have autism on the letter I gave the housing people. It was supposed to be about how my mental health is at the moment and he did write about that but also about autism. I hope the housing people don't exclude me because I am autistic. :dunno:

What does the law say?  Can the housing authorities legally exclude autistic people?   You doctor should know.  :orly:

Well I kind of did ask my doctor about it as he was composing the letter, I asked should he put autism in it. He said it should be fine. I know if the housing people do exclude me they won't come right out and say it is because I am autistic but they will just have nothing to offer me and I will be excluded that way. Kind of like a hidden discrimination.

I hope that doesn't happen, you have waited a long time.  Is there anyone who can advocate for you?   :orly:

On the positive side, could be that they have more sound proof places they preferably rent to people on the spectrum.

Yes I do, my LAC (Local Area Coordinator) from the Diasability Services Commission. I went and saw her last week about it and she said she can ring the housing people for me to see what is happening. Don't think she has done that yet though. She also said that she could go along with me should I have an interview or whatever.

The housing people cater for people with a mental illness. I don't think autism is included. I have depression and that is why I signed up with them in 2005. My depression is pretty stable at the moment - it is always there but it is not operating at full force right now thankfully.

OK, I hope it will all work out well, and soon too.
