Made a new stretch denim dress with silver butterflies on it for my daughter, along with a matching hat and shorts.  She picked some very pretty crystal buttons with a silver backing for the bodice and I used the remaining two buttons on her pockets.

Her dress is View E, the yellow dress on the pattern envelope with short sleeves and no collar.

It sounds so cool and stylish for the summer.  I know she'll enjoy it, feeling her mom's love every time she wears it.

Washed another load of clothes.

Washed last load of clothes.
Made huluski, stuffed mushrooms, & monkey bread.
Put clothes away.

Thanks.  I asked her about making the hat or the shorts, because I thought I might not have enough cloth to make both and she chose the shorts.  I asked her if there was enough cloth to make both, did she want the hat too and she said yes.  I laid out the pattern pieces creatively and managed to get everything cut out by making the skirt a tiny bit shorter and having a center seam in the hat crown's lining.  Anyway, when it was finished, I wanted her to try the whole outfit on and she said she wasn't wearing the hat.  I asked her why she said she wanted a hat if I had enough cloth to make it and she said, "I didn't want to hurt your feelings."

I recently made this dress for her out of dark blue stretch denim with ladybugs embroidered on it and she picked out the cloth and chose ladybug buttons for it.  It's the one on the right that's red and white gingham in the picture:

She wears a navy blue T-shirt and leggings underneath it, though.

Haluski because I spelled it wrong  is cabbage and noodles. Chopped cabbage & onion, cooked with butter and mixed with egg noodles & sometimes potato dumplings, kid loves it, I basically ate more than my fill of it growing up (Hungarian grandmother).

Monkey bread is this:

Except I leave out the walnuts. That recipe is flawed though IMO. Never use a tube pan unless you want 3rd degree burns, and it should be 3 tubes of 7.5 ounce biscuits because anymore than that will overfill your average bundt pan and run the risk of not cooking all the way through.

:plus:  for the info!  Haluski sounds delicious, like something I would eat a lot of if I too were Hungarian.
