Not a lot. Tried to survive the morning, that's all.

Christmas shopping...again.

Went to the Tender Centre and as always saw some good furniture, but I can't bid on any as I have no way to transport it home if I win :-\

I donated blood.
I have done this before and they always had trouble getting my blood out. Since then I have been diagnosed with a blood clotting disorder (it clots too easily) and so I have stopped donating blood. But good on you for doing it. :plus:

Now I'm curious! I have a slightly higher-than-normal platelet count, and so does my brother, but he donates blood easily. Do you remember the name of the
condition you have? Is it thrombocytosis? And do you take any precautions to reduce the risks from the clotting, or do you not need to?   :orly:

By the way, I'm a nosy little geek about medical matters, so if it's none of my business, I won't be offended if you prefer not to answer.   :)

I don't mind answering. I am always curious about medical matters too.

It is called prothrombin gene mutation (yeah I am a mutant lol) and I have to be careful about sitting for too long on planes and car rides, etc. I am not allowed to go on the contraceptive pill either as that has an effect on blood clotting.

I always used to wonder why when people accidentally cut themselves they would bleed all over the place whereas I would only bleed a drop or two if I did the same thing. Now I know why!

That is really fascinating! I've started having nosebleeds these last few winters, and sometimes I wish my own
(slightly elevated) platelet count were enough to stop them faster.   :nerd!:

Cleaned out some fly cultures that had gotten infested with wild-type Drosophila melanogaster.  I'm culturing Drosophila melanogaster (common fruit fly), Drosophila hydei (giant fruit fly) and Musca domestica (housefly), each with mutations which prevent flight, but wild flies sometimes get into the cultures and produce a swarm of flies in addition to walks.

It's related to musterbating.  When you feel you "must" do things.

Looked at a house to work on in Fairfield,  drove through Bridgeport looking at the urban blight and cleaned up the yard in case it snows

I have done a funeral.
Jimi Hendrix: When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.

Ghandi: Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.

The end result of life's daily pain and suffering, trials and failures, tears and laughter, readings and listenings is an accumulation of wisdom in its purest form.
