Worked. Fixed stuff that needed fixing.

Got up, dressed, bought breakfasts and lunch for the family.

Created my first soundtrack to go along with a video that I'm uploading to Youtube.

I look forward to seeing and hearing it.  :viking:

I am taking my son tonight to appear as a band member, supporting his middle school at his first football game.  He has been playing for about six months and basically, he stinks, but he is not any worse than any of the other kids.

Tonight he is expected to stand on the field, during half-time and play a song in front of the crowd.

This will be his first public "performance."

Poor kid resembled a fart in a hurricane, in that massive crowd, but he managed to keep it together until it was all over.  Once we got home, he HAD to tell me about everything that had happened, even though (he knew?)  I had been there watching his every move, or else I could see he would have been climbing the drapes and clawing the walls inside the house.

He was a bit agitated, but he wants more.  I know this feeling he is having.

I'm not sure how to respond, but I'll say that I hope everything goes the way both of you want from this beginning.

Went to see if the saddlery was open; it wasn't, and it should have been too >:(. After that I went to the shops and spent money.

It was his choice and I am supporting it as long as his grades are high.

He wants to play an instrument that he can use to explore jazz and he chose the clarinet (I have a LOT of instruments on hand and he has goofed with all of them). The shortcut to learning to play was to be with other kids who play (again, his thoughts).

Thanks for the kind thoughts.  He was extremely overstimmed this evening when we arrived home and he had to tell me every detail, even though he knew I was there watching every detail.  :asthing:

I will do anything to support his musical needs, even park more than half a mile away from an event with four thousand people in attendance and trudge up to the front past all of them and then listen to him tell me all about how it affected him.  YEP!!  Even all that shit!

And I bet some of the attendees were memorable for their aromas, even in the open air.

Do you have any Benny Goodman or Pete Fountain recordings for your son to listen to?

Yeah. I have all the known Benny Goodman recordings and most of Pete Fountain's work, but Fountain is far more difficult collection to attain for the completist since semi high quality recordings of his live performances became possible during his career. My son also enjoys almost every saxophone player you have ever heard of  (remember the fingerings are almost the same between a tenor saxophone and a common clarinet AND the two instruments are voiced [edit: voicing is the wrong use of words - I meant to say that they have the same harmonic scale from being in the same key signature - in other words written music for one B flat instrument is the same as written music from another B flat instrument.  I awoke during the night with all the definitions of musical terms swimming through my head and I knew that I had mis-spoken. Please forgive me for being out of it a bit.] in the same key - but, one is soprano and the other is tenor).

I have actually burned around two thousand CDs for him, all his, from my collection.  He has them all arranged alphabetically by artist and release date.
