Sorted paperwork/cash register receipts.  I think they have sex and multiply.  Either that or I'm spending too much money.  Nah.

 :plus: for a creative explanation!

Speaking of paper clutter, I still have all my ATM receipts, dating back to 1989!  :duh:
Wow. I throw mine out right after I see how much I have.

Today I have slept until the afternoon ( :) ) and had breakfast. Brought a bit of washing in. Fed the cat.

Reset the small animal trap after work and caught a 5th chipmunk 15 minutes later.
Will it ever end?

Worked. Went to see the eye doc. Worked some more.

I was injured at work today. A very large metal shelf fell and trapped my hand. I had to have five stitches in the ER to put the skin covering my left distal interphalangeal back into place and secure it against movement.

Imy entire hand is very sore and swollen. There was some deeper injury as well, from being crushed, hence the massive swelling, but no bones have been broken. I will probably be fine in a couple of days.
 :violin:

Not really bitching too much, because right next to me and helping me free my hand was a guy who had put in sixteen hours today.  That guy had a really hard day!  I only had an injury.

Good thing that you didn't break any bones, but they should compensate you, anyway.

I got a new job working fulltime.   It is for 3 weeks, then I can possibly get paid more doing something else for the same company.  It is all contracted.

Good thing, indeed. It could easily have been much worse.

The company paid all my medical bills (which were not trivial, considering X-rays, Emergency Room treatment, stitching, hundreds of dollars in disposable medical supplies, such as steriles, anesthetics, tetanus shot, system hydration for blood loss, etc ...) and a bill for a really healthy prescription for Oxycodone (24!!) and paid me for a full day, even though I left four hours early to hit the ER.

I am not sure what else could be expected.   I do not have any expectation for acquiring any extra  "free money"  in compensation for an accident.

Great.  Hope it leads to more hours, work and $.

... or, Odeon,  are you talking about some kind of additional compensation for having been so "traumatised?"

Honstly, I was not traumatised by this. Yes my hand was crushed and penned down for about ten minutes, pealing away a good sized piece of skin from my knuckles, opening two major veins in my hand. It hurt. It bled. I needed help to free my hand, but I was not traumatised.

Hell, I have much larger scars than this is going to leave, made by "people"  who actually wanted to hurt me. That was a little traumatising, but a shelf falling on my hand is just that and nothing more.

Yes, it will end, but only if you get Alvin, Simon and Theodore and Chip and Dale

Did you read about the guy in Hartford, Connecticut, I think.  His hand was trapped in a furnace he was trying to fix.  It became gangrenous (sp?) and he sawed off part of his arm trying to free himself.  He was rescued after 3 days.  I'm beginning to think it makes sense to call someone before I start a repair job and after I finish it just in case I have an accident.

Dishes, important phone-calls, both with really helpful ladies answering, sending necessary emails. Procrastinated too.  :green:

And changed into my uniform, summer style.
