Spent far too much time staring at computer screen. Must... get... awaaayyyy.... :o

Bought a 1.5 TB External HD and pulled "most" of my files off of my iPod and am reconstructing my iTunes library. Started around NOON. It is now 2330! Amazon.com is letting me re-download everything! :headbang2:

I cleaned and organized the garage (again...it never seems to stay that way)
Scraped away some undercoating on the project car prepping it for rust repair.

Took breaks from the computer and almost finished reorganizing the garage with the last of my Mum's stuff.

Also enjoyed another Red Sox victory over the hated Yankees!!!! :headbang2:

Fucked around with Windows... I tried installing XP on an external HD and it messed up the boot.ini of Vista on my main machine, and now neither OS will boot.  >:(

I'm in that no-man's-land of geekdom, not quite clueless but not knowledgeable enough to maintain a home install of Linux.

Likewise.  Especially since the weather's so nice.

Linux is easier to maintain. You wouldn't have had a problem with your boot loader, at least.

XP doesn't recognise Vista properly so you probably need to do a fixmbr from your Vista install disk.

That would work better if I had a Vista install disk.  :P I'll see if I can find one, though - technically, there should be one in the house somewhere - cause that would be easier than the stuff I was reading about online about a bootable linux cd and a text editor to fix it by hand.

The bootable Linux CD method should work, too, and it might be a better option if all you need to do is to fix boot.ini. It sounds as if Windows XP did stuff to your HD's master boot record, though.

Have not stopped. Did not sleep. It is now almost 1600 and I am still working on my computer reconstructing my iTunes library.

Watching the Celtics beat the Bulls in OT. Two minutes left in OT number one, up by five.

Vista doesn't use the boot.ini, it uses the new BCD thingie.

Watching the Celtics blow a five-point lead to the Bulls in OT with two minutes left, losing in in the second OT. :zombiefuck:

Fixed!

So far, not much! Took a bunch more cardboard to be recycled and tried to donate some stuff, but they didn't open until 0900, so I dragged all of this stuff to work and got questioned at the gate.

Oops. I completely forgot. No wonder XP broke the mbr, then.
