Managed to avoid biting extraneous digits off anyone who came within 10 feet of me.

(I hate mornings.)

We should get along fine.

I love mornings and I love my ME Time, early in the day.

Worked. Placed an order on a new pooter. Finally got back the papers I need to make the tax man happy.

What are the specs of the computer you ordered?

It's a dual core Pentium at 2.66 GHz, a 500 GB HDD, 2 GB of RAM and a GeForce 9600 video card. There's a Samsung DVD burner, too, and I'm going to use my old Audigy 2 sound card, instead of the built-in thing. A fairly modest setup, I'd say. Had to make sure everything was supported by Linux, and so I didn't pay extra for the 9800 card.

Thinking of including a new screen, too, and giving my old one to my son.

Yeah not bad, do you know the brand/model of the motherboard?

A Gigabyte motherboard that is supposed to be decent.

Do you now of any reasonably priced (but good) 22" screen?

Monitors are those heavy old things you had before LCD screens arrived.

The geek has spoken.

You mean Flat Panel Display?

sounds just a little dodgy, to me.  ;)

They are all dodgy, but it's the old ones that you need to dodge. :P

We should get along fine.

Long as I can get my me time at 3 at night, we should be good to go.  :P

A lot... I'm fucking exhausted.
I came to this world with nothing
and I leave with nothing but love,
everything else is just borrowed.

Fuck it, we'll do it live.

Pretty much describes me and my wife, she's a morning person and I'm a night owl so we both get our "me" times.

Good Motherboard that, one thing I like about it is the dts Connect out through the Digital out. My main PC has Dolby Digital Live through Coax SPDIF and my Medai PC does dts Connect through Optical SPDIF and both have digital amps that do both. (yes, perhaps a little decidant).

On 22" LCDs, not really sure, but what I usually is look around at what is for sale reasonbly local and then check hardware reviews on models which look interesting to you.

to be honest, i haven't really noticed why it's better than outlook express.  but then, i don't know enough about pooters to notice, if you see what i mean.

although... i DO notice the difference between firefox and Idiotic Excrement (i.e., IE - you have no idea how much i enjoyed typing that!  :LMAO: ), but then you'd have to be dead not to.
