Continuing to burn some Vinyl albums onto recordable CD's.

*breaks into song*

You got it, you got it!

Wait a minute! I hate that music.

Are your results worth the effort, Ozy? I know mine have proven to be well worth the extra finagling.  Sometimes, it's just that you already have the LP, but many times the LP sound is far superior to the CD and most particularly superior to the downloads that are available.

Yes, it was.  As I made a cd of MY favorite Gordon Lightfoot tunes. 8)  Over the next few months, I'll be doing the same to the rest of my LP collection.  Plus it will save on the wear and tear of the vinyl.  I'll have the tunes that I want to listen to, when I want to listen to them.

My wife bought me a turntable/cd player/recorder for my birthday.  Since I can't buy cd's of the music I have collected over the years. >:(   I have a lot of little known/obscure 60's tunes. Now I can make my own cd's.  :green: My wife and daughter are download officianados, but, I'm too much of a luddite to go that route.

it's definitely worth the effort if you have a good pickup.

Yeah, well, I only have an old Dual, Shure combo, but I have replaced the original baseboard/plinith, on the Dual, with five inches of Corian and it sits in a double sand box that weighs over one hundred forty pounds, not counting the wooden stand. The resonances are minimal.

OK, that's stupid ... the resonances are below the frequency  response of the cartridge, in the infra sonic range. I feed the turntable into a tube based (4 x 12AX7) Lazarus Cascade pre-amp. From there, I go directly into my M-Audio sound card and create a .wav file. Once I have the .wav file I can either burn a disc (I always do!) or compress it, using a popular free software. I usually use FLAC for digital playback.

This is what I've been working on for about four years, now. I have kept back-ups of the original .wav files and immediately burned complimentary CDs. I also have many months worth, playing straight through, of old tapes from when my sound company was active. I have been digitizing my entire reel-to-reel tape collection, also. Some of them are kind of unique. I really need a new set of hard drives though, because I am almost full again.

I actually have too many songs in digi. It's bordering on insanity.

Not much yet. Posted a bit. Had coffee and four slices of toast with butter and marmalade. Watched the tube for about 8 minutes.

What will I be doing later?  Same thing I always do: TRY TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!

Took over the world (sorry Pupkin)  :evillaugh:

made sloppy joe type stuff (meat needed to be cooked),
using a bunch of random shit - including some pancake
syrup, and gravy mix, that an ex-housemate left behind.
Worked out pretty well.

Went out for coffee with someone.

Bugger all really.  Had a bath and I'm now officially The Most Ill Person Everâ„¢.  I'm off out this afternoon to find a chair for my room.

Nah. Considering the prospect,
but just having a friend is enough
right now.

Just been to town to get myself an office chair.  For £20 it's not so bad.
