Hipsters not so anomynous
« on: June 17, 2012, 04:18:15 AM »
A bit of a joke... Dont take this too seriously... I mean dis shite is just ironic ...

Hi. Im bluraven and I am a  hipster, but I wouldn't say I am because like all other hipsters, I hate hipsters.grrrrrrrr hipsters are evil.

All that I will say in my defence is

I do not ride a fixie. ( I ride a neo vintage bike instead. It has gears and brakes)
I live in the suburbs. (but, im not too into it)
I don't wear lensless specks. ( though my alter ego as a kid did )
I listen to main stream music ( along with the indie stuff and most of the mainstream music is from korea...)

Yes. I know yall laughing.

I like watching action movies and any movies that have needless violence in them.
I assumed hipsters were a fashion item.  :-\
This thread may or may not be meaningful.
I2 today is not i2 of yesteryear. It is a knitting circle. Those that participate be they nice or asshats know their place and the price to be there. Odeon is the overlord

.Benevolent if you toe the line.

Think it is I2 of old? Even Odeon is not so delusional as to think otherwise. He may on occasionally pretend otherwise but his base is that knitting circle.

Censoring/banning/restricting/moderating myself, Calanadale & Scrapheap were all not his finest moments.

How to apologise to Scrap

Blueraven,  you just simply  CAN'T be a hipster then,  because
a hipster would say

"No point talking to you about the kind of music i am into,  you
just wouldn't get it"
blah blah blah

I really can't imagine the fun of a fixie. Last time I tried that, it was on the tricycle I had. But, maybe it provides the need for needless violence and pain?

I'm riding a bike from the fifties, it was stronger than my late bike from the seventies. Don't know what that makes me. It's a cool bike though. The first one I was ever on, even before I was born.

I honesty hate fixies. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I mean one speed no brakes, completely un functional , they belong in a velodrome only. Along with full lycra suits ( middle aged men in lycra or MAMIL ....EWWW ).

Fixies suck. Get some fucking brakes.

I like my bike, her name is paloma. She goes at three speeds and has brakes and I can attach things like baskets so I can carry stuff

You cant do that properly with a fixie

I also hate it when people dont wear helmets...WEAR A MOTHER FUCKING HELMET PEOPLE

I mean my helmet is so cool like it is sort of equestrian looking with tartan pattern and oh , if I fall off my bike I wont die.

I call my electric bike T.A.U.R.U.S - Trauma Augmentation Utility, Regardless Under Situation.

I called it that becaused I slammed into a wall with it and that my star sign is Taurus. Bruised my legs real good.

hipster -

Referring to young people of around 18-30 years of age, who drink cheap beer (most often Pabst Blue Ribbon, on occasion Budwiser), smoke Parliaments, Lucky Strikes or hard to obtain foreign cigarettes (such as Gauloises) and take recreational drugs, coke being the most popular. Use a great deal of sarcasm, claim to be ironic. Are usually less than 5% body fat, drink copious amounts of coffee and eat children's cereal. Listen to Indie Rock, rely heavily on Pitchfork Media to tell them what's cool. Don't dance at concerts. Wear a mixture of thrifted clothing and items bought at American Apparel (commonly Tri-blend v-necks) and Urban Outfitters. Extremely tight jeans worn by both sexes, pairing these with either a band or b-movie t shirt and a plaid shirt/v-neck and a cardigan along with Nike hi-tops/Vans/Keds. Females often wear retro style dresses and racerback tank tops without bras. Eschew public transport and instead choose to ride fixed-brake bikes. Often claim to know about literature and film - will have googled a good deal of Vonnegut and French New Wave cinema.

You forgot the love of geometric shapes (like triangles), space and having an unnatural obsession with fonts like Helvetica.

I see them all the time on Flickr. Joined an "indie" group just to troll them, it's fun telling them their photos are unoriginal and look like they've been pissed on.
