I've not seen them in person, but they look quite attractive. 

Personally, give me distinct rooms (not a fan of open concept), wood floors (I put in tile), in general, older houses.

I loved Ann Hathaway's house in England.  The doors are a little over 5 feet high and it felt right to me.
