eh... im usually fine w insects and other arthropods...
« on: October 27, 2011, 01:45:11 AM »
whenever spiders wander across my wall, and get too close to the computer, ill give them a sliiight touch to any of their legs, which will usually send them fleeing in the opposite direction.
w some bother and patience, ill even "herd" it to the window, or something

but its getting colder and colder, winter is approaching

the past few days, any spider i touch, just drops to the floor :I

idunno why, but this freaks me out :I

It does sound creepy, but I think it's a self-defense move.  :nerd!:

I was once stung by a bee in early fall.  Wasn't much of a sting, so perhaps the bee
was getting sluggish in the cooler weather.  It just felt like the tag in my collar was itching.
I reached back to scratch my neck/fix the tag, and a dying bee dropped off onto the floor.   :orly:

no. its the cold. i only get 1 species of spider visitor, sometimes 2.
during the summer they are strong and virile
with this cold, they just... collapse :I

reminds me of a dream i had when i was little:
in the middle of something else, inside what seemed like a gym-hall with a "fake" green "landscape", there was suddenly a little brown fuzzy spider looking at me. "little", the size of a rabbit.
its head was round like a ball, the body, and the big butt, all circular, and fuzzy and brown. its legs were like curved tubes, fuzzy and brown. it smiled at me :I with rounded eyes, and a wide smile.
i touched it
and it fell apart, body and butt rolling each way, and its head of course rolling my way, still smiling :I

Are they dying, then, or just hibernating?  How long do they live anyway?   :orly:

my guess is that theyve "done their part", and are stupidly just clinging to life. they dont know the "theory" of life, theyre just doing their thing untill they die. and obviously... this is probably when theyre supposed to mass-die :I

I'd gladly trade the slugs that invade my kitchen at night for dying spiders.

I dont like this thread  Spiders and slugs YUK

I can just about deal with most spiders, but since moving to Ireland Ive seen a huge type of spider that terrifies me. They have big thick legs, and must be almost 6 inches when the legs are extended.
Thankfully I have only found 1 in my house, but I was by myself,so I had to phone my aunt to come and remove it
They have had quite a few of them in their house.

Spiders.  :zombiefuck: :zombiefuck: :zombiefuck:

This is all I have been dealing with here and up the other house for a month now. Not those spindly little anemic suckers ready to drop dead from the cold either, these are the healthy half dollar size variety pumped up on steroids.

Harmless or not, they fucking terrify the shit out of me.   :zombiefuck:

It's been the same here with wasps. I opened up a battery box the other day and there was a whole bunch of those fuckers all huddled together. I thought I was going to get the shit stung out of me again, but they just sat there and let me smash every last one of them. Fuck wasps.

i simply hate whenever an animal seems fine w death

its... icky...

moths tend to be like that too.
like, it just sits there. you can touch it, it just sits there. you can press down on it, and it still just sits there. you can pick it up, and eat it like a peanut, and its just fine w it :S
