The problem with Paint your wagon was the singing.  Singing in films is just bloody awful.  As if a bunch of hardened beer swilling cowboys are just suddenly gonna start belting out a song...other then the obligatory "Get your tit's out for the lads" :zoinks:

Ridiculous.

I was at my mom's the other day and she was watching some ancient Doris Day film -  they were walking on a beach and she suddenly starts singing at the top of her voice!  Get real Doris!  If i had been having a lazy moment in the sun and some silly bint had started crooning about luurve she would have got a right pisser round the back of the head!

A lot of old films have been spoiled by this unnecessary and unwarranted need to belt out a song! :grrr:

And everyone knows how to dance to the same tune, particularly in West Side Story, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Kiss Me Kate, etc.  Don't get me wrong, I love the last 2, but it's so unnatural.
