Laundry still is waiting, I realise now.

When daughter opened her curtains after sleeping in, she saw our cat getting run over. He was in a sorry state. Called a friend who drove us to the vet. Sirius is no more.
We've buried him on one of his favourite spots in the garden under a philadelphus that was going bad.

When we left Luna almost shrieked, seeing the state Sirius was in. He himself did not have the energy to even moan. When we came home, Luna washed him, from top to toe.

We waited till oldest came home too, to bury him together. We've planted some pansies and lobelias in the earth, and a lot of grape hyacinth bulbs that were standing in a pot. To our surprise there were some spontaneous forget-me-nots starting to bloom there too.

Sad day today.

Maybe the philadelphus will do better, after having had his roots aired and all old stuff taken away.
Sorry to hear it. He was beautiful.
Here is a catwings. When we lose a cat we order a catwings in its memory. I hope your daughter feels better soon.

Thanks Odeon and Ren.

Today I was at my mother's place, dropped off youngest there and also visited one of my brothers. Went home by train, made calzone with eldest. Later in the evening bleached her hair. Now sitting on sofa with Luna sleeping on my legs. She wants more attention than usual.

Phone interview to get The PR food stamps.
Called an agency to get her "respite care' for 8 hours a month.
Cashed a check for the month's cash (two trips.  I'd forgotten the check.)
Watched Victor Frankenstein with The PR.

Dreamed rather vividly of my mother (her behavior in the dream was believable).
Dragged myself out of the early morning carbohydrate hangover.  Consumed coffee. :coffee:

Went to a MarkLogic User Group meeting and listened a guy from the BBC talk about what they've done to speed up their development and testing.

Worked. Messed around with some designs for a lamp. Ruminated about whether work is taking up all my energy and if there's a good way of getting some of it back.

Woke, missed Sirius, petted Luna. Had tea. Fed neighbour cat, who after that decided he wanted to take over my house. Luna and I have made it clear to him this house is not his.
Did some laundry, ate some late breakfast, mowed the lawn, sat and read a bit in a newspaper.

Lazy day. Oh, bummed around on the internet, when all I wanted to do was put some money on the public transport card of youngest. She needs that to be able to get home later today.

Wallowed in distractions.  Avoided dealing with stuff that needs to be dealt with.  :hide:
