It's bizarre how "Maybe we need to set a higher target salary" never seems to quite make it to the surface of all the various layers of corporate think.

It is interesting, isn't it? And when that particular job came out, it was on-site in Switzerland, a country that is very expensive to live in.

Guess they don't need someone that badly.

Went to tag sales, put stuff away and fixed some things

Laundry.
Managed to get that trim off the door frame so I could remove the cavity doors (used a hammer & piece of wood)
Sugar soaped one side.
Got groceries at 8pm.

My son is 18 today.  We've been to the village pub.

Happy birthday to your boy!

We had all of the kids home today. The middle one lives out of town so we couldn't have her inside due to covid but we lit the fire outside and gathered in comfy clothes and blankets and camping chairs and spent a good 2 hours gabbing.

Flipped a roof mount cargo box I found a couple weeks back...

We make random guesses about the buyer before they come to pick stuff up if I am unable to pull up a selfie pic on their Marketplace profile...keeps life interesting.

This mornings guess was long hair 20 something guy with a Subaru.

Bingo...right on the nose.

Hit snooze on the alarm a couple of times this morning. I hate mornings.

House cleaning, some creative stuff with some quartz and obsidian I collected over the years.

Back on the subject of companies which have ridiculous wish lists of skills and qualifications and experience for vacant positions.

What often ends up happening is that those positions are literally impossible to fill. So they hang around unfilled for months until the company is desperate and projects are getting held up because they have nobody to fill the role. Rather than looking for someone who is a reasonable fit and can be cross-trained earlier in the process.

Alternatively they end up with someone who is good at navigating unrealistic expectations and can bluff their way thru the hiring process. Those are usually the people who are very bad at the actual job. So then the company ends up having a lot of drama offloading or repositioning that person. Or the person ends up being able to bluff their way through the actual job for a year or two or more.

Cleaned kitchen, fed boys, did a load of laundry, sorted coffee for myself and sorted bills.

Now to start applying for jobs/interview practice, maybe I'll do dishes later.
