Mate I am a little envious. I love riding bikes. At the same time though I have entertained the idea in abstract I can not bring myself to buying a "road bike". Not after the accidents. too many ways I simply just would have been dead.
I2 today is not i2 of yesteryear. It is a knitting circle. Those that participate be they nice or asshats know their place and the price to be there. Odeon is the overlord

.Benevolent if you toe the line.

Think it is I2 of old? Even Odeon is not so delusional as to think otherwise. He may on occasionally pretend otherwise but his base is that knitting circle.

Censoring/banning/restricting/moderating myself, Calanadale & Scrapheap were all not his finest moments.

Well, I think I've finally found my bike.

It's a 78' with 13,000 miles on it.

It's owned by a guy who seems quite knowledgeable about the XS 650 and he's asking $1600.

The thing that sucks is that it's up in the Stockton area, 5 hours drive from here. :tantrum:

If the guy is for real and not another scammer, then it's worth the drive.

:crossed:

:indeed: You know you want one. ;D

I just think these parallel twin bikes make the coolest vintage racers.

I'd get a Norton 850 Commando or Triumph Bonneville, but I can't afford one, and the parts are hard to find.

I can make this bike look like it's ready to race the 1969 24 hours of Daytona amd do it for half what a British bike would cost.  8)

Well, let us know.

Since Stockton isn't too far from the Bay Area, I might swing by to see PPK while I'm in that neck of the woods.

Imagine this in British Racing Green with disc brakes and a 2 into 1 exhaust.

That's the look I'm going for.  8)
