Lousy.  I've had a couple of pretty bad paralysis attacks in the past week, I'm in a fair bit of pain from muscle tension and my physical endurance is pathetic.  Also, my sleep cycle isn't doing too great.

Sore, nothing new there, although it isn't too bad at the moment.

Due to visit the pain clinic on tuesday, so I'll see what they have to say about things.

Going to have a fag, eat, and do some more reading on the DIY spectrophotometer project.before I go to bed.

Do you have any medical appointments in the near future to help with this stuff?  :-\

I've got an appointment in about a week with a movement disorder specialist at the hospital, but that'll just be more investigatory stuff; I'm getting batted around all the specialists while they try to figure out what's wrong with me, and it doesn't look like there's any actual treatment on the horizon yet.

Has anyone sat down with your *entire* medical history and tried to determine
whether one syndrome is causing everything?  I love to watch  Mystery Diagnosis  and
the patients interviewed often say their dx was delayed because each specialist focused only
on one aspect of the total picture.  Do the specialists communicate with each other about you?

Yeah, there's a neurologist who's coordinating everything between the other specialists, and he's taken down as complete a medical history as I could provide him with.  The specialists are all at the same hospital and know each other, so there's plenty of communication.  Whatever I have must just be really obscure; maybe I have some mutation that's never been seen before.  Probably my dad's fault for smoking too much and not looking after his sperm.

If it was your dad's smoked sperm, you would not be the only one. In his days, you weren't a man, if you didn't smoke.

Scotland isn't the best place in the world for getting vitamin D through sun exposure, but I take cod liver oil and a high strength vitamin D supplement.

It's a mixed bag. It's Thanksgiving here and I'm feeling incredibly thankful and grateful for the people I have in my life but also sad. Gram is dying. The oldest and I will be going to say our goodbyes on Wednesday if she lives that long. I don't have the youngest that day and I know seeing her Gram in such a state would be too upsetting and I don't want that to be her last memory of her so it's best she's with her Dad. But the oldest is okay with it and can separate it from all of the other memories he has of her.

After 95 years on the earth she has more than earned the right to say I'm tired and I'm ready to go but God I'm going to miss her. She's my best friend.

the whole family has said she has been hanging in there until she knew I would be okay and with the news I was given over the weekend and having a resolution in hand, I guess they were right.
