Too much work and not enough play. I took the job as a lead thinking I can change things, maybe get decent working hours for everyone, but while the powers that be are very vocal in affirming my goals they also keep on pushing for more work to be done.

Turns out that what happens is me taking on dev responsibilities if one of my devs is sick, in addition to whatever I already have.

So meh is not entirely correct. Pissed off is more to the point.

It's not a devious and evil managerial layer, though, but rather inertia. We've always done things this way. To which I'd reply "well how do YOU think it's going now?" while fearing "swimmingly".

Feeling the rough edges.
No reason, but no sleep last night, other than a few random moments, short lived.

It is a good day to rest all day, anyway. Rainy out there.
I am partway through a Babylon 5 marathon session.

We started watching it on Tubi and realized they were editing it rather harshly. After about four episodes, I switched to my disc collection and continued.
