I was on Prednisone for major sinus headaches years ago.  It worked well for me.  Maybe my ADD with ritalin buffered me from those effects.

We have some uninvited houseguests - I've spent the last few days trying to shoo bloody rats out. Little fuckers gnawed my keyboard cable. They chewed a hole in the stair carpet. They confused the hell out of us by strewing dog food across the kitchen - I was blaming poor Frank until a little ratty head popped out under the sink and laughed at me. Yesterday one of the buggers stuck its face out of a freshly nibbled hole in the hallway ceiling. I could be unimpressed.  :deadhorse:

I had to get off ritalin a few years ago, as my Doctor was concerned about an elevated heart rate and my age.  He was going to prescribe a low dose beta blocker for it.   But, I'm not ready to go down that path of adding meds as I age.  Carla agreed with me as she is the pharmacist in the family.  So I gave up the ritalin, do I miss it........oh yes, some days more than others.  As for my sinus headaches, they seem to have become rare and when I feel one coming on sudafed and anti-inflammatories help keep things at bay.  Prednisone I want to stay away from as much as possible.

I crashed a couple of years ago. Hit the wall, as they say around here. Was on beta blockers for quite some time because my stress levels would go through the roof when I was even slightly out of my narrow comfort zone.

It struck me when the prednisolone effects became clear that the ritalin/prednisolone combo was a) predictable, b) not what I wanted, and c) possible to counter with beta blockers. I've resisted, hoping that it'll all settle down when I quit the cortisone. And right now, gawd I hope it's true with three days left.

I'm on too many pills now.
