I accidentally splashed paint thinner in my eye earlier. I flushed my eye as best as I could but now its sore and irritated. Need eye drops but I just heard thunder outside 

Why were you painting your eyes?

I wasn't  :laugh. I was trying to clean the remnants of paint off my kitchen sink because I wash the paint brushes in there. The thinner came in goop form in a can with a rubbery pull tab to get it open, I pulled the tab off and an inch thick chunk of goop stuck to it flew up into my eye. I was seriously panicking at first because I thought my eyesight was done for, but the sink was right there so I was able to flush my eye immediately.

Today my eye is still swollen, red and weeping mucus, but at least I can see.
On the upside I regained my composure, was able to clean the sink with the thinner and a bit of barkeeper's friend and now it's sparkling.

In addition to my washing machine breaking last week now my dryer stopped working. I had to to visit the laundromat

Yesterday Sugarbutt read dryer screens should be cleaned with warm soapy water a couple times per year, especially if using dryer sheets because there's a waxy substance that builds up on the screen and restricts the air flow. We tried it and they were right. The screen looked clean but water pooled on it and drained slowly, but the water drained freely after cleaning it.

Interesting, I always clean the lint off the screen but my dryer still doesn't work very well, I'll have to try that.

Interesting, I always clean the lint off the screen but my dryer still doesn't work very well, I'll have to try that.

It's build up from fabric softener.

Also...check that the vent pipe is clogged on the outside. Mine has a cage on the outside vent to prevent rodents from coming inside...it also fills up with dryer lint after awhile.

When I used to do the bar rags I would end up taking the back exhaust duct off the dryer and clearing that too. If you open the door and shine a flashlight inside the dryer to the back wall of the drum and those little vent holes look clogged...you exhaust duct in the back of the dryer is as well usually...and that's a really big fire hazard.

Electric dryers are very simple to repair and can last almost forever. My SIL was coming down to do clothes now and then a few months back and couldn't believe how fast they dried in my 25+ yr old beast.

My appointment with my psychologist was moved to Saturday morning because she was sick yesterday. Saturday is my sleep in day. So I'm going to go to the appointment, come back home and go back to bed.
