How does that even happen to smart people like me?

British Airways starts direct flights from New Orleans to London.  Next thing you know, odeon will catch the wrong plane home and show up on my doorstep.

I might say "God save the Queen,"   but I am actually thinking in terms of all the rest of us at this point.

No, he was in favour of it. That's why the Dutch were slow in adopting  DLS again after WWIi. Because Hitler  had been the one forcing it on the Dutch. The memory of WWII was also why it took the Dutch government a while before they could make having an ID with you all the time obligatory.

You need to have an ID with you at all times?

Yup. Not that I do have it with me every stroll I take, but I should. If I were to get an accident, needing help from police, I might get a fine for not bringing my ID with me. It's stupid. Most people are against it. But as my daughter stated, bureaucracy  is the god of the Netherlands. Everything needs to be neatly organized and controllable. From age 14 on, you have to bring your ID, stepoing out of your house.

Yesterday one of the pipes under the kitchen sink came loose.  Water was flowing from places it shouldn't be flowing.  Turned the water to the sink off.  Jammed the pipe a little tighter.  Now I need to view some youtubes to see what I need and whether I can fix it (or play the neighborhood Blanche DuBois)

Yesterday one of the pipes under the kitchen sink came loose.  Water was flowing from places it shouldn't be flowing.  Turned the water to the sink off.  Jammed the pipe a little tighter.  Now I need to view some youtubes to see what I need and whether I can fix it (or play the neighborhood Blanche DuBois)

New kitchen...should be plastic PVC.  The fittings will either be glued  or threaded (most likely and hopefully threaded).

If threaded get a roll of teflon tape, grab some rags and a bucket and eyeball to make sure everything is lining up properly, it's easy to bump stuff loose...loosen the offending joint by turning the threaded nut make sure the pipe hasn't moved down or been bumped off connection if so fit it properly...wipe the threads dry, apply 1 layer of teflon tape...slip the nut back in place...re-tighten.

Search out See Jane Drill on youtube...she has some good videos on all kinds of stuff.

Picked up a lot yesterday but keep finding more sometimes were I had thought I had already got it all,  it's like it's hiding waiting to pop out and get on your shoes

  That's especially annoying if you have shoes with slip-resistant treads in the soles.
