Not often that I think "borderline". But what you described, including the way she treats the people wanting to help her and discarding all knowledge that is different from what she wants to hear, 'borderline' was my first thought.

I think the key thing is, back when I self harmed, I never said I would stop. I just did when I ended up in hospital in 2013. I haven't done anything since.

But with my friend, she kept sending me texts after she self harmed saying she would never do it again. After about 5 times I stopped believing her and told her so. Then she got all upset about my lack of support, saying I was the only one that felt that way.

This week I am not visiting her in hospital as she has severe conjunctivitis. How she got that in hospital, I don't know.

Just searched my past posts to see about when I posted about SO getting his car (2002 Impala, low mileage, driven carefully by an older couple).

September 06, 2014...amazing...it lasted a lot longer than I thought it would. It's sitting in the middle of the driveway now with only 3rd gear and reverse.

No...he is not driving my truck.

A seal on my big compressor failed,  easy fix and I have everything but I have to take apart a bunch of fittings to get to the part

Indeed, my Dad  caught   the "hospital bug" MRSA folowing major  heart surgery and very nearly died. A much younger man, in the next bed, actually  died of the same, sadly.  (in case anybody's wondering , this was only  a year or two before Dad died of the metablastic cancer. If only we'd known what was round the corner...)

Anyway, my hat's off to you for quitting self-harm just  like that, Ren .

Thank you. There are times when I think about doing it still, but so far I haven't. It's like some sort of addiction when doing it and so hard to stop without help.

I'm sorry about your dad, sounds like he went through a lot.

  Heartburn's so bad lately that a few sips of orange juice make me almost nauseous.
   My own fault, it's very much related to weight.  All those fat rolls pushing together ...
   also, bad diet in general.  I know what I need to do. :pirate:

At one time, yes.

We girls from that time are no longer revolving around him, and I guess he's all sad and mopey that he's no longer an emotional focal point.
I at least thought things were comfortable enough that we could go for extended periods without talking to each other, silence didn't necessarily mean I didn't care and I wasn't there for him anymore.

People get busy and get in and out of touch with friends all the time.
