dang it.
missed an opportunity to catch a mouse in my hands.

Next time you'll be mentally prepared. You're a wolf.

(Wonders what predator genes I have, think I caught almost all mice I saw in the houses I lived in at first, maybe second sight, as a reflex, I can't be fully bovine.)
this time it saw me and ran like the wind. i was too far away to get it.

when i come back from errands i might put some food out and see if i can get it.
there are two! the second one just came out. i have to move my chair so i am closer to the path. this one was was horribly cute; it fell over twice trying to get over a box. going to catch them with a cup; i realized it might not be the best idea to risk a bite or a parasitic infection with my immune system impaired as it is.
And by the time you've put on vinyl gloves, it will be gone.

Though twice I saw a mouse, closed the door, realised what I had seen, opened the door again and there the critter still was, stifled by the appearance of me. So I could just lift it up.

In thirty years someone will find them, take a picture, and post them on a forum.  :zoinks:

Love stuff like that.

Remember ripping out walls in the other house to find wadded up newspapers from the 40's - 50's...not so thrilling but still interesting was the 3ft high pile of used razor blades in the wall under the old bathroom medicine cabinet.

Clearing out our parents' stuff from their cellar, we found a box of champagne glasses they'd gotten
as a wedding present, with the glasses still individually wrapped in pieces of 1964 newspaper
saved from two months before their wedding.  Even then, they were hoarding.  Awww, genetics!

Three-foot-high pile of used razor blades sounds very  American Horror Story.  :hide:

woke up this morning to find a hard drive crash on my W7 machine. now i have to figure out how to divest W10 of all the distracting crap. the only distraction on the old one was the panda ads.

i was tired when i woke up but now i'm grumpy.

That is a much more common find than you would expect,  look for the slot in the back of an older medicine cabinet that is where you were supposed to put razors to dispose of them safely.   Now want a real American Horror Story I found a bloody shirt and underwear in a wall I drilled into once along with some other cloths,  probably 20+ years old but still :zombiefuck:

bloody shirt, no issues, but bloody underwear? male or female? inquiring minds need to know.
in one house where i lived the slot was there but i don't think anyone used it.

Children allowed to run rampant in stores.  In this case, a young boy pushing a smallish shopping cart down and around the aisles at nearly full run without looking where he's going....and the parents just wimpishly telling him to "stop".  I nearly slammed into him as I was rounding a corner, then and only then, did the father pull him away from the cart!    ::)
