I literally stayed up all night (reading) because I couldn't trust myself to get up in time for my 8 a.m. dental appointment.  I'm not nervous about the appointment, just about being on time.  Lesson learned = no more morning appointments.

On Sunday, when I was re-fastening my pants pants a button flew off. DAMN it! The pants are way to good to let go just yet, so all week I have been dreading the notion of sowing on a huge button back onto heavy cotton material. Fine.

Today, another pair of pants gave up its button, FFS! I blamed my gut at first, but these are pants that I wear a lot simply BECAUSE they are comfortable and properly sized. I do not have to stuff myself into them at all.
Then. I realized that I had bought these on the same day about a year ago.

How weird is it that they would both lose a button in the same week? Dunno, but FUCK!!
Now I have to sew two big buttons onto thick cotton material.

Agreed.

But, wait until you have teenage kids who need to "adult."  While adulting is tough enough to "rub ones feathers off" sometimes, trying to mentor a teen to do so is even worse.

I received a letter from the library today. Addressed to my daughter, but of course, I opened it.

Apparently, my daughter has a book overdue, but not just a bit overdue; so fucking OVERDUE that the library collection staff have sent us a letter to inform us (well, really her, but I am still responsible) that her overdue book now has a fine assessed against her account amounting to sixteen dollars. They are trying to get this resolved and insist that after these past ninety days, they consider the book lost.

We can either return it and pay the fine or pay forty six dollars to replace it.

Kind of glad the letter hit me this morning, because I will have most of the day to "temper my temper" before I talk to her about the situation.

Last time my daughter got a similar letter, the mistake was at the side of the library.

The 14 yo is sleeping right now.
She kept herself and me awake most of the night.
No idea why it happened. But she was twitching with arm and leg spasms big part of the night.
She had just come through some rough days.  :-\
