Mmmm, fish and chips is good food. If we brits have a national dish, I bet fish and chips would win any vote for what the candidate should be.
Thinking, my last appointment with my doc went well yesterday. He had been talking of tapering down or off some of my meds, on the pretty shaky logic that I was on several different ones, which he seemed to think a problem itself. But he wasn't worried about anything with abuse potential, like my pain meds (the oxy 80s) or the anticonvulsant, chlormethiazole, rather, the muscle relaxer I'm taking, tizanidine, and clonidine that I take to stop sensory stuff getting too much, and to stop overloading. Neither of which is any use to anyone with non-medical stuff in mind, all they are, in both cases, as they act the same way, is adrenal suppressant agents, no fun to anyone looking for that.
He didn't do anything though, thankfully, and seemed to be interested and overall positive about the journal papers I brought with me for him to have a look at, all on the use of ultra-low dose naltrexone (an opiate antagonist similar to naloxone/narcan), for rapidly reducing tolerance and preventing it forming in the first place, as well as apparently, the combination of an opioid and the ultra-low level dosing of specific antagonists appears to work for dealing with neuropathic pain.
I'm hoping he will agree to help me trial it, as I really don't need much (its usually dispensed in 50mg units, for other more well known indications, but the dosage levels needed in this use, are from nano- to even picograms per kilo of body weight)
