Ask PuppetSockPenguin!
« on: April 02, 2011, 08:32:39 PM »
I'll begin!

1.) How did you choose your name? (Sorry if you already explained, but I can't remember!  )

2.) How did you decide on the clarinet as your instrument of choice?   :toporly:

3.) Do you play any other instruments? Do you sing?   :notes:

1.) How did you choose your name? (Sorry if you already explained, but I can't remember!  laugh )

I chose it ages ago, so I can't entirely remember, but the first part is a play on "sock puppet" (don't ask me why), and I just think penguins are cool.

2.) How did you decide on the clarinet as your instrument of choice?   srsly!

Originally I had wanted to play the flute, but the clarinet was the only instrument that my school hadn't sent away for repairs at the time. The music teacher took me to hear some other students playing the clarinet, and I thought it sounded nice enough and so decided to play it.

3.) Do you play any other instruments? Do you sing?   Notes

Yes, I also play the piano, violin, viola, saxophone, recorder, slide whistle, tin whistle, guitar, bagpipes, bugle, harmonica and I can play the oboe and flute a little. And I compose; I'm doing my Master's in composition.
I can carry a tune, but I wouldn't call myself a singer. I keep meaning to get singing lessons/join a choir, but I haven't got around to it.

Holy cow! You are a one-woman band!  :orly:

I agree that penguins are cool. Did you see March of the Penguins  back in 2005?

Wow. Agreed.

If I could play them all at once I'd be a true band.  :green:

Thrown in some percussion and you'd be an orchestra.

Individually, or in small groups?

:notes:   Have you ever been tried to teach someone who loved music but had no singing or playing ability whatsoever?   :notes:
