We have so much food stockpiled I feel obligated to use it up.  So it's Creative Cooking 101 around here.  Tomorrow will probably be red beans with sausage, rice, cornbread and a green salad.  Just need to buy some lettuce.

This has been a GREAT year for blueberries in Indiana and Michigan.

Yeah, I love blueberries but alas this region I live in (since p/m 15 years) don't have them (Vaccinium myrtillus) in the forest areas. The soil here isn't the proper soil for blueberries.

Used to collect them every year when I lived more up north in this country. I knew/know all the good spots and plenty of them there.

Oh, avatar is blueberries.. smoothy/milkshake there was with fresh strawberries. Made with a simple blender with a slush of (fat) milk and proper ice cream.

Am now, coincidently, eating a bowl filled with, yeah again, strawberries, home-made str. jam and the same, mentioned before, ice cream. Not 'blendered', though.

Just finished a salad - cubed chicken breast, cucumber, tomato, cheese, sunflower seeds, broccoli and mixed lettuces.

Here, the soil is dry-ish alkaline clay, mostly, so growing blueberries is a work of pure, wholesome love!
